The Benefits of MembershipETC primarily offers membership to any institution of higher education with support units for media, instruction, presentation, or information technologies as well as firms and corporations whose business is in support of the purposes and objectives of ETC. Retiree and student memberships are also available. Members receive a variety of networking opportunities to connect with other professionals in their field, including access to member pricing at yearly conferences and a members-only listserv. ETC Launches Affinity GroupsETC with the support of the IDEA Committee is piloting an Affinity Groups program! Affinity Groups are typically a collection of individuals who share a common identity characteristic. The unifying characteristic is usually something that’s traditionally underrepresented and may make folks with that identity feel isolated. The goal of these Affinity Groups is to help members find community within the higher ed AV world and create safe spaces for people of different identities to support each other in their professional and personal lives. The groups are meant to communicate throughout the year, be self-governed and self-organized, and provide offerings to meet the needs of its members. ETC will provide logistical support in the form of private listservs and Zoom meetings as requested. The IDEA Committee will provide guidance to the groups around organizing, activities, and support. As the first groups get established and the ETC community continues to grow, more groups can be added as requested. |
